I purchased these for a road trip my wife and our dogs are taking. I have a Yakima bike rack that we purchased previously which had a problem with a faulty part. Yakima addressed that as quickly as possible and without question. We love the bike rack. So that is why we looked at the Yakima Sightline and Skybox. Again the product is great accept for the issue that the covers on the rail towers pop off spontaneously even when placed correctly. I have replaced three of them so far. Yakima offered to replace rails to see if that would fix the problem. Since it was occurring on both rail towers I figured this might be a design flaw and I would continue having the same issue. After looking online it is a common complaint for this setup. Yakima sent me replacement covers at no charge. I then purchased 15 inch Velcro straps which I put on each tower and have not lost any covers since. Scott helped me almost every time I called or emailed about this. He was really nice, professional and helpful as best he could. In the end I needed to go on my trip and settled with having a very expensive piece of equipment that I had to Jerry rig to make it function the way it was designed. Disappointed having had two very expensive pieces of equipment both of which had problem. Probably would not highly recommend or repeat purchase of Yakima products.
Okay so.. these crossbars ended up not working for my car, which was totally on me! I had to return them and the process was SO EASY. Customer service got back to be so fast, and sent me the return stickers for both! The refund hit my account as soon as they said it would. I was in and out of the fedex store in less than 3 minutes. I would definitely recommend ordering from them!
They fit securely, look much nicer than generic wide crossbars, and I can move them to my other car if I need.
